Phil Metcalf:  

I married Phil Metcalf in 1971 at Daytona Beach FL. We lived there 18 months, while he worked as first undercover drug enforcement agent for Daytona and started that branch of their law enforcement. (This was a very exciting and scary time for me. I grew up very fast and hard, learned a lot about very many things and life and learned what was really important in life.) Back to Chattanooga, where we have lived to present. I was EMT-Advanced, for 10 years with an all volunteer, Walden's Ridge Emergency Service. The Service existed only on donations from the community, we provided free to residents, services of fire, medical and vehicle/mountain rescue. We lived on Signal Mountain at that time. I became medical Lt. and participated in all areas of the service including Mountain Rescue and repelling and was honored with the service award, "Rock of Gibralter". It was a very rewarding experience for me and gave back to the community where I lived. The perks, I felt good to be able to help people in trouble and know that my fellow volunteers could count on me when I was needed.
